The displays in the exhibition hall focus on the theme of Zhenyuan’s “Historical and Cultural City” and include the development of the town, ethnic customs, ethnic festivals, and collection of folk residences. The building of the museum itself is also very valuable: it was originally the ancestral hall of the Zou family. The house is very distinctive. The three walls are high fire walls, and the “gate” facing the street is built like a stone archway. The internal layout is a quadrangle with two patios, divided into a front hall, a back hall and wing rooms on both sides. The existing stone and wood carvings in the temple are all of the highest quality.
