According to the Records of Changzhou Prefecture written by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, Zhengjue Temple was built in the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty. It was originally named Kaiyuan Temple and was the former residence of the doctor Li Zun. There was a bronze model of the Tang Ming Emperor in the temple. In the Song Dynasty, it was renamed Ezhengjue Temple. The Yanghu County Chronicle written by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty recorded the poem “Late Return from Zhengjue Temple” by Sa Tianxi, a Yuan Dynasty native, saying: “The sound of porridge and fish has stopped, the sun is covering the firewood door, the moon is on the ground to see off guests, and the clothes are covered with clouds when they come out of the mountain. The lights are bright and the dogs bark, the pine trees are dark Seeing fireflies flying, the corridor is quiet late at night, most people should go home alone.” That’s it. Zhengjue Temple was built in the Tang Dynasty and was originally named Miaojue Temple.
