Yunhui Yuyu is located in the Summer Palace Park in Haidian District, close to Kunming Lake. It is the starting point of the main axis of the central building complex in front of Wanshou Mountain. The building has four pillars and seven floors, covered with yellow glazed tiles and painted with golden dragons and seals. It is of extremely noble rank. In front of the Paiyun Gate, in addition to two vivid and beautifully cast bronze lions, there are six Taihu stones of different shapes placed on each side, which represent the twelve zodiac signs. The north and south plaques on the archway express the praise and praise of the ruler, and also imply the feudal etiquette order of the superiority of the monarch and his ministers. The “Yunhui Yuyu” archway means that the palace here is a world where colorful clouds and gorgeous buildings complement each other. The plaque on the south side of the archway reads “Stars Gong Yaoshu”, which tells people that this is the “land of gods guarded by stars”.
