Lufutang, built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, is the former residence of Hu Jitang, a collector in the Qing Dynasty. It is also a typical scholarly residence in Xidi Village. The hall inside the house is elegantly furnished and full of scholarly atmosphere. There are several calligraphy, paintings and couplets hung in the front hall, as well as the couplet with rich connotation and very philosophical meaning: “It is good to study well, to do business well, and to be effective is to be good; it is difficult to start a business and keep a business, but it is not difficult to know it”, which shows that Confucianism Penetration into architecture.
