The Xinmin Bridge Carving Hall is located at No. 2, Renminli North, Xinmin Bridge, Guangji Road, Changmenwai. It was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Suzhou in 1982. This place was originally the Shen family ancestral hall, with the main entrance on Shantang Street. Now this hall is the only one remaining, and the other ancestral halls have been abandoned. The hall is an early Qing Dynasty building, built around the Qianlong period. The top of the hard mountain is 12 meters wide and 13 meters deep. The whole hall is in the Begonia style, with flat beams and wooden beams on all sides, with characters and stories carved on all sides. The east and west gables are veneered with finely ground square bricks at bevel angles, and the column bases are in the style of carved stone drums. The hall has high historical and artistic value.
