There are five wind and rain bridges in Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang. The No. 1 Wind and Rain Bridge is also called “忿忿僦”. Because “hum” in Miao language means “dragon”, it has the meaning of “head bridge”, which means the first bridge. The Chinese translation is “Longtan Bridge”. It is said to be related to the legend of the dragon in the water pool 50 meters upstream of the bridge. Legend has it that there is a dragon in the water pool 50 meters upstream of the Longtan Bridge, which has protected the Xijiang River for generations. “If the water is not deep, it will be spiritual if there is a dragon.” It is said that the beautiful scenery, water, mountains and people of Xijiang Miao Village, as well as the longevity of the elderly are all due to the protection of the dragon.
