Xi’an Zhongshan Gate is a gate on the east side of the Xi’an City Wall. It was built in 1926 by Feng Yuxiang and named Zhongshan Gate in memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. It is commonly known as Xiaodongmen by the masses. The nearby street is also generally called Zhongshan Gate. Zhongshan Gate has two openings in the north and south. The southern opening is called Dongzheng Gate, and the northern opening is called Arc de Triomphe.
