Enshi Tusi City, about 2 kilometers away from the urban area of ​​Enshi, is the largest Tujia Tusi cultural landmark project in the country. It is also the largest and most typical antique building complex among the Tujia stilted buildings in the country. The Enshi Tusi City Scenic Area includes the gate tower, Dong Wind and Rain Bridge, Linjun Temple, school field, Tujia folk houses, Tusi Palace - Jiujin Hall, city wall, bell tower, drum tower, hundred gardens, ethnic art garden and other scenic spots, reflecting the Tujia ethnic culture. The historical origin shows the ancient and honest folk customs of the Tujia people.
When you walk into Enshi Tusi City, you will be greeted by the towering Tusi City Gate Tower. The Tusi City Gate Tower, also known as the Tusi Chaomen or the Gate Tower, is a monumental building that shows the majesty and merit of the Tusi. Paying great attention to the solemn and gorgeous appearance, the architectural content embodies the Tujia people’s humanistic ideological space concept and technical ingenuity. The Fengyu Bridge in the scenic area is an antique bridge with two bridge pavilions standing on the bridge corridor. The cornices are raised. There are railings and long sitting boards on both sides of the bridge corridor for business travelers carrying heavy loads to rest and enjoy the cool air. , provides shade and shelter from rain, so it is called the Wind and Rain Bridge. On the mountain opposite the cruise ship terminal in the scenic area is the “Linjun” temple, the ancestor of the Tujia people who is highly respected. The Linjun temple faces east and west. There are huge murals painted along the mountain wall next to the temple. The murals record Linjun’s life. A heroic feat. Jiujin Hall is the core part of the entire Tusi City. It is composed of 333 pillars, 333 stone pillar foundations, 330 doors, thousands of carved wooden windows, thousands of purlins, and tens of thousands of rafters. It is a rare wooden structure building with pure mortise and tenon joints in China. Looking up, there are pavilions and buildings everywhere, which look magnificent. This is also an authentic Tusi imperial city.
