Maqu is Tibetan, meaning “Peacock River”, which means Yellow River. It is the only county in the country named after the Yellow River and is famous for the first bend of the Yellow River. This scenic spot is not the Tangke Jiuqu First Bend of the Yellow River scenic spot that most tourists are familiar with, but the bend of the Yellow River next to the Maqu Yellow River Bridge.
The Yellow River flows eastward from the Bayan Har Mountains, forming a 433km long “First Bend of the Yellow River” in Maqu County. Because the process is too long and the span is too large, the whole picture of the first song cannot be appreciated from the ground. More than 10 kilometers northeast of the county, the whole picture of the small first song can be seen, which is quite similar to the whole picture of the first song, so tourists who come here will not be disappointed. Located 4km away from the county seat, there is Shoqu First Bridge, which is the first bridge built on the upper reaches of the Yellow River.
