Eight Tathagata Pagodas: Located in the square in front of the temple. In 1776, it was restored to its current size after several repairs. The tower is 6.4 meters high and is a typical Tibetan pagoda. It was built to commemorate the eight meritorious deeds of Buddha Sakyamuni from his birth to Nirvana. The pagodas contain thousands of small Buddha statues and various scriptures and sacred objects. The eight pagodas also contain the tent where Tsongkhapa lived when he was a child and some other sacred objects.
