The west gate ruins of Tangluo City, together with the east gate ruins square, south gate ruins square and north gate ruins park, are important witnesses of Yangzhou’s splendid history and culture. This city gate is a western city gate in Luocheng, Yangzhou during the Tang Dynasty. It is also the most complete Tang Dynasty city gate site discovered nationwide in recent years. According to the current archaeological results, it is inferred that there were 13 city gates in Luocheng at that time, including 4 east gates, 4 south gates, 4 west gates and 1 north gate. There are four city gates on one city wall, which is unique in the country. Being here, one seems to have seen the most glorious scene of this city gate in those days, the prosperous scene of “cars like flowing water, horses like dragons”
