The ancient Tang-Tibet Road, today’s National Highway 214, is also called the Mantouling (ancient) Post Road. The Tang-Tibet Ancient Road was the transportation highway between the Tang Dynasty and Tubo. It was a very famous road in ancient Chinese history. It was also the only way from the Central Plains to Qinghai, Tibet, and even Nepal, India and other countries since the Tang Dynasty. Its It has a history of more than 1,300 years since its formation and circulation. The famous Princess Wencheng took this road to marry King Songtsen Gampo of Tibet.
