Shixin Peak is one of the 36 small peaks in Huangshan Mountain, with an altitude of 1,683 meters. It is not the most precipitous place in Huangshan Mountain, but it is the first place that makes people feel the precipitousness of Huangshan Mountain after climbing from Houshan Mountain. Therefore, it is necessary to reach Shixin Peak before “ I have always believed in the reputation of Huangshan Mountain as a wonder in the world.
Shixin Peak faces the sky on three sides. Stepping on the uneven rocks, holding on to the railings and looking down at the abrupt peaks and rocks and cliffs, the feet of tourists who are new to Mount Huangshan can’t help but feel weak. The famous pines in Huangshan gathered near the peak include Jieyin pine, Black tiger pine, Lianyin pine, Dragon claw pine, Wolong pine and Tanhai pine.
According to legend, Huang Xiyuan of the Ming Dynasty traveled to this peak from Yungu Temple. When he arrived here, he believed that Huangshan Mountain was lovely, and he named it “Shi Believe”. There is a platform on the top of the peak. Ancient literati often climbed to the peak to enjoy the scenery, drink wine and play the piano. First, the national hero Jiang Tianyi of the Ming Dynasty lived here in seclusion to play the piano, and later his descendant Jiang Litian, who was good at poetry and the piano, also lived here in seclusion, so it is called “Qintai”.
