The seventy-two holes are located in the Zhaohai Pavilion area in Huaguo Mountain. It is a scenic spot related to “Journey to the West”, including Haitian Cave, Ten Thousand Buddhas Cave, Erxian Cave, Falong Cave, Chaoyang Cave, etc. In the past, most of them had Buddha statues for believers to worship; some were named after folklore, such as Bottomless Cave, Fox Demon Cave, Marshal Mahou Cave, etc., collectively referred to as the Seventy-Two Cave, are traces of a violent orogeny tens of millions of years ago. Many huge rocks are stacked on top of each other, forming a large number of naturally formed caves.
Haitian Cave is the largest of the seventy-two caves. Because it was built by the eminent monk Wu Wu, it is also called Wu Wu Cave. At that time, he removed the silt between the stone cracks and dug through the related caves, so that the Haitian Cave was connected with the small caves above and below. And built a pavilion on the top of the cave, named Zhaohai Pavilion. View from the pavilion. But seeing the distant peaks on all sides, the emerald green hitting my face, and the fragrance of flowers, I almost felt like I was in a fairyland.
