[Reclining Jade Buddha Hall] is located on the east side of the Big Buddha Hall. It was originally a Zhaitang and was built in 1996. The hall is a five-bay hard mountain-style building, 17.25 meters long from north to south and 5.4 meters wide from east to west. It is built on a stone platform and houses a reclining jade Buddha in the hall.
The Reclining Jade Buddha was carved out of Burmese jade around 1996 under the inspiration of Monk Ben Huan of Hongfa Temple and Master Yinxian of Baima Temple. Some lay people in Shenzhen and Guangzhou donated money to make the Reclining Jade Buddha. He was escorted to White Horse Temple and enshrined in the Reclining Jade Buddha Hall. On December 19, 1997, the White Horse Temple held a special consecration ceremony. The Buddha statue is carved from Burmese jade. It is 5 meters long and weighs 8 tons. It lies on its side on a couch.
