The “Printing House” is the institution for printing and publishing scriptures in Kumbum Monastery. It was founded in 1827 by the fifth Saydo Yesituden Gyatso. It is a courtyard-style building that houses many Tibetan scriptures. The woodblock printing plates were printed by the monks by hand, It provides all monks with scriptures of various disciplines. It is one of the five famous scripture printing houses in Tibetan areas. It mainly collects the “Complete Works of the Three Masters and Disciples of Tsongkhapa”, “Five Great Treatises” and “Commentaries” as well as other eminent monks’ great works. Treatises on virtue and various woodcut editions of scriptures in other subjects.
