The City God’s Temple is one of the most well-preserved City God’s temples in China. It is located on the east side of the ancient city of Pingyao and was founded in the early Ming Dynasty. The existing temples were regulated by the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The most distinctive feature is that there are temples within the temple. The three temples, City God Temple, Caishen Temple, and Zaojun Temple, are connected together, forming a unique scene of “respecting gods and arts in one temple, and receiving incense together”, with the City God in the center. , the Kitchen God and the God of Wealth live on both sides. The Bagua caisson on the top floor of the God of Wealth Theater is carefully decorated with clever use of the upturned rear ends of the brackets. It not only has a unique shape, but also can collect the sound very well and play a sound concentration role; five large urns are also buried under the stage. It can resonate and has excellent sound effects.
