Yangxin Hall is located in the Palace Museum in Dongcheng District. It was built during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty and is located on the west side of the Qianqing Palace in the front court. It is an I-shaped palace. Two square pillars are added to each room, making it look like 9 rooms. The Hall of Yangxin is the first palace in the Forbidden City to be covered with glass. The emperor’s throne is located in the middle of the Ming Dynasty. There is a throne in the “Dongnuan Pavilion” on the east side of the Ming Dynasty. This was once the place where the Empress Dowager Cixi listened to politics behind the curtain. The Xinuang Pavilion on the west side of the Ming Dynasty is divided into several rooms. There is a small room where the emperor reads memorials and has secret conversations with ministers.
