· Adjacent to the Summer Palace, it consists of the Yuanming Garden, Changchun Garden, and Qichun Garden. It is a large-scale royal palace created and operated by the emperors of the Qing Dynasty for more than 150 years.
·In 1860, the British and French allied forces burned the main buildings to ashes. Nowadays, tourists can only pay respects in the wreckage and look for the glorious empire of that year.
·There are many small attractions in Qichun Garden, which is a large collection of small waterscape gardens. Today, it is the main venue for the annual Lotus Festival in Old Summer Palace.
·The Changchun Garden is dominated by a large waterscape, and the well-known “Big Water Method” is located here.
·The apricot blossoms are in full bloom in spring, just as described in the imperial poem - “The flowers are blooming in the deep spring, and they are as bright as the clouds.” It blooms from March to April and is distributed throughout the garden. The main viewing places are the Flower Temple, Mingchun Gate and Xinghuachun Pavilion.
