Nanxiang Steamed Bread Shop is located beside the Jiuqu Bridge of the Old Town God’s Temple in Shanghai. After the internal renovation and upgrade last year, the shop has become one of the “eating” places in Yuyuan Mall.
Today our whole family came here specially because we wanted to try the Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao here. However, there are still long queues here. Whether it is dine-in or take-out, the queue can take at least 40 minutes. There are long wooden benches on both sides of the corridor on the first floor, making it easy to queue in the middle; there is no difference between the second and third floors, and the prices are the same. We dine in on the third floor, spending 70 yuan per person. The prices are really not cheap. For example, 6 traditional fresh meat dumplings/cage/¥38, spicy crab meat dumplings 6 pieces/cage/¥48. To be precise - they are really expensive, and they are not the most popular ones in Shanghai. Delicious Xiaolong! In fact, you don’t have to go to the City God Temple to taste Shanghai delicacies. At the end of last year, I went to Fuchun Xiaolong (No. 650 Yuyuan Road, near Zhenning Road), which is a store specializing in Yangzhou specialty snacks and snacks. This store has also been renovated and has a nice environment! I went there at noon and it was very popular. Fuchun Xiaolong (6 pieces ¥12), and it tastes good!
However, the tableware design of Nanxiang Steamed Bun Shop is unique. The tableware and paper towel packaging are printed with Nanxiang Steamed Bun Shop’s original patterns, which is very representative. Especially after last year’s renovation, what is very worthy of appreciation is the design of the cultural wall in the store. The cultural wall tells the century-old development history of Nanxiang Steamed Bun Shop. It is also a highlight of the Chinese restaurant decoration and has become a beautiful landscape of Yuyuan Mall. .
