The Moon Lake Scenic Area has a total area of 10 square kilometers. The lake is like the moon embedded in the grassland, so it is named Moon Lake. In Mongolian, it is called Shalanol Lake. In the hearts of the Mongolian people, the sun and the moon are respected as “gods”.
Moon Lake is a plateau lake above 1,000 meters above sea level, integrating forests, grasslands and lakes. Moon Lake is a plateau lake at an altitude of more than 1,400 meters, with a lake surface of more than 6,000 square meters and a water depth of 6 meters. The north of the lake is surrounded by neat and green artificial forests, and the west and south sides are Yudaokou Pasture. The TV series “Huanzhugege” once used this place as a location shooting base, and most of the location scenes were completed here.
