The design of Mingyue Pavilion draws lessons from Dunhuang
The architectural features depicted in the murals adopt the common ancient architectural style of symmetrical layout and cloisters surrounding pavilions. Yuequan Pavilion is a four-story, six-sided square wooden structure building. Each floor has a cloister, raised eaves and brackets, and is covered with green tiles. There are stairs in the pavilion that go up to the fourth floor.
