Maqu Grassland is also called the first bend of the grassland. On this more than 10,000 square kilometers of grassland, the Yellow River enters from the southwest and exits from the northwest, forming the first bend of the Yellow River in the world. In this beautiful first bend of the Yellow River, there are many fascinating grassland landscapes, and Ximei Duohetang (meaning flower beach) is one of them.
The prune pond stretches for dozens of kilometers. In mid-July every year, the entire beach is covered with nasturtiums. It is very pleasant to ride horses while riding the scent of flowers. In August, the nasturtiums quietly retreat and are replaced by sky-blue gentians. The entire flower beach is azure, and the beach is connected to the sky, and the sky and the earth are the same color. By October, the tops of the surrounding mountains are already covered with snow, but here they are replaced by spots of buttercups. These are the three wonders of the prune flowers in the pond.
In August every year, the Gesar Horse Racing Conference is held in Maqu Grassland. At that time, the grass is green, the tents are white, the herdsmen are dressed in national costumes, and the horses are going back and forth. It is very lively.
