Lingyan Cave is located in Lingyan Cave Forest Park in Wuyuan, Jiangxi Province, “the most beautiful countryside in China”. Lingyan Cave is divided into three scenic spots: “Lingyan Cave Group”, “Stone City Ancient Tree Group” and “Stone Forest Wonders”. The Lingyan Cave Group consists of 36 caves, of which only two have been developed and open to tourists: Hanxu Cave and Lianhua Cave. In comparison, Hanxu Cave is more beautiful and is also the focus of the tour. Unlike most caves dominated by stalactites and stalagmites formed by sedimentation, Lingyan Cave is a landscape of stone buds and stone forests formed by the impact of running water on limestone. In addition, there are more than 2,000 inscriptions written by tourists since the Tang Dynasty, such as “Yue Fei visited here” and “Wu Hui and Zhu Xi” among the caves. Some ancient villages and famous trees around the scenic area are also worth seeing.
