·Lanzhou University was founded in 1909. It is a comprehensive national key university. Its predecessor was the Gansu School of Law and Politics established during the New Deal in the late Qing Dynasty. It marked the beginning of modern higher education in Gansu and pioneered higher education in the northwest.
