Jiunvdun is located on the northwest bank of East Lake in Wuhan, within the Tingtao Scenic Area. According to legend, nine women who participated in the Taiping Rebellion did not succumb to the enemy’s power and died heroically here. The villagers buried their remains here together. At that time, in order to avoid persecution by the Qing government, it was not called a tomb but a mound. There is a 70-square-meter platform built in front of Jiunvdun Tomb, surrounded by guardrails and a majestic monument in the middle. The monument was built in 1952 and is made of granite, more than 8 meters high. Engraved on it are inscriptions and inscriptions written by Dong Biwu, Song Qingling, Guo Moruo, He Xiangning, Zhang Nanxian and others. There are six copper bells hanging on the top. The wind blows the bells, which is like the sound of martyrs galloping on the battlefield.
