Jingxiu Hall is located at the west end of the north side of Yuetang in Hongcun, facing south. It was built during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty.
Two sets of courtyards are cleverly set up in front of the hall. The inner courtyard is in a regular rectangular shape, with elegantly spread bluestones on the ground and inlaid flower beds and fish ponds. Two peonies of the same age as the house stand in the middle. The inner courtyard is separated from the outside of the Moon Pond by a wall, creating a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The outer courtyard blends into the outside world. In winter and summer evenings, people like to gather here and enjoy the moonlight, which is comparable to an elegant residence in Taoyuan.
Jingxiu Hall is extremely decent in terms of spatial structure and layout. The layout of the courtyard in front of the hall makes the whole house radiant and full of aura; the interior roof is decorated with carvings and paintings, which is intended to harmonize the overall architectural style and charm, and fully demonstrates the magical charm of classical folk houses.
