Jingdezhen Ceramics University is located in Jingdezhen, the millennium porcelain capital. The school has three campuses and is the only multi-disciplinary undergraduate higher education institution in China featuring ceramics. It was once affiliated to the former Ministry of Light Industry. In 1998, it was transferred to a joint venture between the central and local governments and was mainly managed by Jiangxi Province. It is one of the 31 independent undergraduate art colleges and universities in China. It is one of the first universities in China to independently recruit art undergraduate students and is one of the first universities in China that is eligible to recruit international students who receive Chinese government scholarships to study for master’s and bachelor’s degrees.
