The Imperial Kiln Factory is also known as the “Imperial Kiln National Heritage Park”. The site’s underground remains are extremely rich, and the porcelain produced is called “official kiln ware”. Yuan Dynasty official kiln porcelain and a large number of various types of utensils from the Hongwu, Yongle, Xuande, Zhengtong, Chenghua, Hongzhi and Zhengde periods of the Ming Dynasty have been unearthed, becoming the common memory of ancient Chinese civilization. Five meters away from the gate of the city hall, there is a stone well, which is the only ground relic left from the Ming Dynasty Factory site. Many official kiln ruins from the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties have been excavated. The Jingdezhen Museum is worth seeing. The imperial kiln factory originally specialized in making official kiln porcelain. Now there is only a small ruin left. The museum inside displays some of Jingdezhen’s ancient porcelain. The history from ancient times to the present, the technological sequence of pottery making, the types of porcelain, the classification and history of glazes are all very helpful in understanding the thousand-year-old culture of porcelain in Jingdezhen.
