·Hongshan is named after the mountain is composed of Permian purple-red sandy conglomerate. It is commonly known as “Hongshanzui”. It is now a park for citizens’ leisure and entertainment.
·The scenery of “Red Mountain Sunset” has always been regarded as one of the most representative landscapes in Urumqi, and it is an attraction that foreign tourists cannot miss when visiting Urumqi.
·Located in the city center, the Observation Building on the top of the mountain becomes the best location to overlook the entire Urumqi city.
·Almond trees that could hardly survive in Urumqi grew up on Hongshan Mountain. It was also the only apricot tree in Urumqi.
