Haosengou National Forest Park is located about 124 kilometers southeast of Aershan City. It means dry ditch in Mongolian. Every spring, there is drought and water shortage here. The scenic spot possesses the three basic elements of sunshine, air and green that are the current world tourism trends. It is a forest tourist resort for antiquity, curiosity and adventure, and is known as “Little Guilin”. The natural landscape in the scenic area is magical, with dense virgin forests, countless dangerous cliffs, strange rocks, clear pools, streams and waterfalls hidden among giant trees and exotic flowers and trees in the dense forest, forming a natural landscape picture.
The main attractions include: Qilin Peak, the main peak of Haosengou, is named because its shape resembles a unicorn looking up into the distance. The rock that forms Qilin Peak is granite. The base of the peak is thick, with a diameter of about 15 meters, and it becomes thinner toward the top. The peak is about 20 meters high and the top is a thin neck. It is formed by the long-term physical and chemical weathering of granite with well-developed joints. Hunter Peak is one of the main landscapes in the Haosengou Scenic Area. Hunter Peak and Qilin Peak face each other across the valley due to the Tianhe Gorge. It looks like a hunter, holding a shotgun, looking into the distance and meditating.
