·Dafudi is located in Likeng Village, Wuyuan. It was built during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty as the official residence of Li Wenjin, a fifth-rank Fengzhi doctor. The interior decoration is extremely exquisite.
·Li Wenjin’s official position was not obtained through the imperial examination. He was originally a wealthy businessman operating tea in Guangdong. After the Taiping Army revolted, they donated money to the Qing government to become a fifth-rank official. This official was in vain but enjoyed privileges.
·This doctor’s residence is named “Chun Aitang”, which reflects the harmonious atmosphere of the family and the care and concern of the elders for future generations.
·Dafudi generally refers to the private residence of a civil official. The official family is the family of the scholar-bureaucrats, not the thatched cottage of the common people.
