This is a typical representative of Huizhou private gardens, built in the 20th year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1815). Because there is a fee (2 yuan) to enter, and tour groups and tourists are not allowed, the courtyard is quiet and pleasant, in stark contrast to the noise outside the wall. There was also a film crew filming here, so it became famous.
Compared with other courtyards in Hongcun, it is not luxurious and is relatively small in scale, but the private garden in the courtyard is the most unforgettable. It can really be said that within a small area, the scenery is different and beautiful as you move. On the right side of the waterside pavilion, the beauty is leaning on the railing, which is very suitable for taking portraits; below is a small pond surrounded by the Hongcun creek. In the water, there is a red carp wagging its tail leisurely. The best angle to take pictures of the gatehouse and horse head wall of this courtyard is from the owner’s vegetable garden. This is a stop not to be missed by photography enthusiasts.
