The compound road is formed by sandwiching a wall in the middle of the double-sided cloister to serve as a diversion. The intersection of the complex roads leads to the butterfly gallery on one side and the reading building on the other. The reading building is located in the northwest corner of the back of the boat hall. The first thing you see when you enter the West Garden is the multi-path corridor that runs through the entire garden. It is more than 1,500 meters long and is known as the prototype of China’s overpass. The cloister, commonly known as the Chuanlou by Yangzhou people, is divided into upper and lower floors, connecting the East Garden, the West Garden and the residential courtyards. There are assorted holes and water-milled windows on the southeast walls of the corridor.
