Chengzhi Hall was built in 1855 AD. It was the residence of Wang Dinggui, a great salt merchant in the late Qing Dynasty. It is also the best-protected large-scale ancient residential building in Yi County and is known as the “Folk Forbidden City”. The entire building is of wooden structure, with rich interior decorations of bricks, stones and wood carvings. The wood carvings on the beams, brackets, flower doors and window lattice of the main hall have fine craftsmanship, complex layers and numerous figures. People have different faces and faces. The whole house is divided into inner and outer courtyards, front and back halls, etc. More details include the “Paishan Pavilion” for playing mahjong tiles, and the “Tunyun Pavilion” for smoking opium cigarettes. There are ponds and wells in the house, and the water cannot be left out of the house… It can be seen that Rich layout of Huizhou architecture. The most important part is in the front hall. Behind the main door stands a majestic middle door. Above the word “Fu” on the middle door, there is a wood carving picture of “Hundred Sons Celebrating the Lantern Festival”. On the picture, there are 100 little boys celebrating the Lantern Festival. Scenes of lanterns, rowing land boats, or dancing dragon lanterns…the shapes are different and lifelike.
