The plane of this cave is oval. Dome top. The main statue is the largest cross-legged seated statue in Yungang, 15 stone meters high. When you walk into the 17th cave, which is about 1 meter below the ground level, and look up, the Lord looks like a majestic Kuiqi, with a solemn aura. He wears a flower crown on his head, animal ornaments on his chest, pearl necklaces on his arms, and a skipper on his legs. The right hand raises the palm, and the left hand bends the chest. People call it “Jiaojiao Maitreya Bodhisattva”. There is a large Buddha statue on each of the east and west walls of this cave. There is a seated statue in the east and a standing statue in the west. They are also very tall, but the style is different from the main statue. Because of these three statues, they are also called the “Three Worlds Buddha”, and the main statue is designated as Maitreya in the future life.
