Chenzhou Beihu Park is located in the center of Chenzhou, starting from Guoqing Road in the east, Renmin West Road in the south, Zhuye Chong (now Wanhua Chong) in the west, and Chengui Road in the north. It was built in 1975 and covers an area of 31.6 hectares. , with water surface in the north, covering an area of 12.47 hectares. At night, the moonlight shines on the water, and the reflection is picturesque, so it is called the “Moon on the Water in the North Lake” and is known as one of the eight scenic spots in Yanggu.
The southern half of the park is the camphor forest area and youth playground. It has a simulated “Twenty-five Thousand Miles Long March” route, which reproduces the “Iron Chain Bridge”, “Snow Mountain”, “Grassland”, etc. before people’s eyes. The water surface of Beihu is 12 hectares, accounting for more than 30% of the total area of Beihu Park. “North Lake Water Moon” is one of the eight scenic spots in Chenzhou and has been praised by literati of all ages. According to the overall plan, the park has basically formed six major functional areas: quiet rest area, children’s activity area, youth entertainment area, lake area, nursery production area and administrative management area. It has more than 40 modern amusement facilities such as a 35-meter Ferris wheel, Double Dragon Going to the Sea, and self-controlled airplanes, and has more than 20 garden attractions such as Beihu Shuiyue, Forked Fish Pavilion, Fangming Pavilion, and Outai Paradise. By the end of 2001, it had received more than 16 million tourists. Now it has become a modern comprehensive mass culture, entertainment and rest place of a certain scale with a quiet environment in the downtown area, suitable for all ages.
