Bayi Bridge, also known as Bayi Bridge in Nanchang. Built in 1936, it was originally called Zhongzheng Bridge and was a wooden bridge. After 1949, the city renovated the Zhongzheng Bridge and renamed it “Zhongzheng” to “August 1st”. At that time, the “August 1st Bridge” was only 10 meters wide. Later, the traffic on the bridge became increasingly busy, and the “August 1st Bridge” became increasingly overwhelmed. Construction of the new Bayi 1st Bridge started on November 5, 1995. The New Bayi Bridge is located 50 meters upstream of the original bridge, with a total length of more than 3,000 meters. It is the first cable-stayed bridge in Jiangxi Province and the longest cable-stayed bridge in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. It was officially completed and opened to traffic on September 29, 1997. It starts from Yangming Road in the east, crosses the Ganjiang River, is connected to Lushan South Avenue in the west, is connected to Changbei Open Development Zone in the north, and is connected to Changjiu Expressway. It is an important passage connecting Hunan, Hubei, Anhui and northern Jiangxi.
