Shennongjia
The road conditions are generally acceptable. There may be a small amount of damage on individual road sections in the scenic area, which is also common in mountainous areas. If you don’t burn the midnight oil, there’s generally no problem.
Mountainous roads will definitely have more curves, so don’t drive too fast, try not to overtake if you’re not familiar with the road conditions, and just keep an appropriate distance from the car in front.
Shennongding Scenic Area includes the highway from Muyu to Pingqian, or in other words, Shennongding Scenic Area is this section of the road. If you don’t buy tickets for Shennongding Scenic Area and want to pass by Shennongding Scenic Area, you can only wait until night. Otherwise, there is no problem. First tour

There are fewer cases of not visiting Shennongding.
The general situation is to drive along the road to visit the Shennongding Scenic Area, and then go out from the other end to Pingqian.

The park’s scenic spots include six scenic spots: Shennongding, Dajiu Lake, Shennong Altar, Tiansheng Bridge, Guanmen Mountain, and Tianyan. The main scenic spots are Shennongding and Dajiu Lake.
Shennongding Scenic Area and Tianyan Scenic Area can be entered by self-driving. Dajiu Lake Scenic Area cannot be entered by self-driving. You must take a scenic car. Other scenic spots are smaller.
Shennongjia
The main residence is in Muyu Town. From here, driving to various scenic spots is along the highway. Only to go to Dajiu Lake is through the Shennongding Scenic Area.

National Highway 209 is a normal mountain road, a 2-lane national highway, wide enough, with many curves but not dangerous. The road conditions are good and there are no problems with the road conditions. If you have no experience on mountain roads, don’t drive too fast, overtake less often, overtake carefully, and put safety first.
In addition, there is a lot of fog in the mountainous areas, so drive carefully and slowly.
If you leave the scenic area from Pingqian Ancient Town in Dajiu Lake, there are two ways to go to Yichang: one is not to enter the scenic area, go right at the three-way intersection, go along the river crossing, and get on the expressway directly (it takes about more than an hour to get to the expressway); Go left at the three-way intersection, pass through the Shennongding Scenic Area (tickets required), pass through Muyu Town, and then take the expressway in the direction of Xingshan.
Before getting on the expressway, national and provincial roads have many curves, so drive carefully.

The main scenic spot is also a large scenic spot and contains many scenic spots (yellow line in the middle of the picture). The larger scenic spots are larger than the independent scenic spots outside. If you have limited time, this is definitely a must-see.  
Therefore, the Shennongding Scenic Area is the focus of the tour. One day is not enough to fully visit this scenic area.
The main tourist route in Shennongding Scenic Area is from Yakou to Taiziya, with a total length of 31 km. Because the scenic area is large and has many attractions, it is suitable for self-driving (self-driving cars are allowed to enter the scenic area).
At present, the main attractions in the scenic area include: Dalongtan, Xiaolongtan, Golden Monkey Ridge, Shennongyuan, Shennongying, Shennongding, Shennong Valley, Watchtower, Liangfeng Ya, Charming Yun, Banbiyan, Taizi Ya, etc.
Among them, Golden Monkey Waterfall, Shennong Valley, Banbi Rock, Taizi Ya, etc. should not be missed if you have time.
There are 3,000 steps to climb to the top of Shennongding (not currently open). There is a Shennongding stone monument under the observation tower for taking photos, just beside the highway.
Shennong Valley was originally called “Scenery Valley” and formed a loop trail with the “Big Footprint Secret Valley” to form the current Shennong Valley. “Big Footprint Secret” Valley is at the upper exit, and “Scenery Pass” is at the lower exit.
It takes about 3-4 hours to complete the loop here.
Dajiu Lake
Dajiu Lake Scenic Area is mainly about lake views, and

The other scenic spots have completely different styles. It was a completely independent scenic spot a long time ago, and it is worth a visit if you have enough time.    
Self-driving cars are not allowed to enter Dajiu Lake, only scenic cars can be used.

If you come from the direction of Shiyan,
Tianyan Scenic Area
When passing by on the first day, just take the north gate and exit through the south gate.
Other small scenic spots are optional depending on the time, and it doesn’t matter whether you go or not.
The Tianshengqiao Scenic Area is not big, it is a canyon. You can take a look when you have time when passing by.
There are some popular science venues in the Guanmen Mountain Scenic Area, and it will take some time to look carefully.
The Shennongtan Scenic Area looks like a sacrificial landscape, but I didn’t go in.    
Xiangxiyuan is a small scenic spot with good water. Go there if you have time, one hour is enough!
These are very close, right near the town.  
On the way from Fang County, you will first pass through the Savage Valley (Savage Cave) Scenic Area. They are actually two adjacent scenic spots. You will pass through the Savage Cave Scenic Area first, and then the Savage Valley Scenic Area. These two scenic spots belong to Fangxian County. I have never been to Savage Cave. The Savage Valley (formerly known as Shennong Gorge) I went to is a canyon. I hiked along the trail beside the stream. There is a waterfall at the end. The round trip takes about 3 hours. If you don’t have enough time, don’t go there (there are scenic buses).

In the forest area, there is a Badao Garden Scenic Area on the roadside. It seems that it is going to be turned into a self-driving camp. It is not very popular at the moment.
Coming out of Tianyan Scenic Area is Hongping Town. You will pass by Hongping Gallery Valley, which is also very ordinary. If you want to take a look on the way, you can just go under the line of sky instead of climbing up.
The last one I passed by was Xiangxiyuan. It’s still possible to take a look without a ticket.

If you are pressed for time, you can leave directly from Dajiu Lake and return.
