The yellow color in the picture is the conventional Qinggan Grand Ring Line
I arrived in Menyuan, Qinghai on July 22, 2015, then visited Zhangye and Chaka Salt Lake and then arrived at Dunhuang via the Big and Small Qaidan Lakes. It took a total of 13 days (cyan route in the picture above);
Departing from Dunhuang at noon on October 15, 2017, we headed to Lenghu Town, and then traveled alone through the hinterland of Qaidam to Shuangshui Yadan, which took 3 days (red route in the picture above).

It is recommended to enter the park in the morning or afternoon. It is said that for photographers and photography enthusiasts, the Danxia light and shadow at that time is the best.

Not bad either.
Zhangye National Geopark
Self-driving is not allowed and you can only enter by scenic bus, which really makes me unhappy. garden
There are three doors
, each gate has its own tour bus. So the entrance is different and the buses have different numbers. There are four stops in the park. You can only get off the bus at the stops and take the bus to the next stop.

Chaka Salt Lake
When this travelogue was written, many people criticized it as “cheating” because the Chaka Salt Lake they saw was not like this. Indeed, this is what I saw near the entrance of the Chaka Salt Lake Scenic Area. The above photo is of me walking along the small train track to the very depths of the scenic area, and
Waited for two whole days
We waited until the clouds appeared before we started shooting. so,
If you don’t want to work hard, Chaka Salt Lake may disappoint you.

There is a pit between Yumen Pass and Han Great Wall. This pit is a toll station. If you want to go to Devil City, you must buy a tour ticket for Yumen Pass and Han Great Wall. This means that if you don’t buy a ticket for Yumen Pass, Devil City, you Don’t even want to go. (Situation in 2015, if there is any update, please leave a message)
Relics of the old Lenghu oil base
Cold Lake used to be an uninhabited land. In June 1955, 30 geological advance teams arrived at this place and discovered an icy lake. It is said that the nomadic Mongolians called it “Kunteyi”, which translated into Chinese is 【Cold Lake】. Therefore, [Lenghu Oil Base] was a place that prospered because of oil, but around 2000, it was completely abandoned as the oil depleted.
Now Lenghu Town is also pursuing industrial transformation (tourism development). It is said that it is going to “open the first Mars town on Earth”, which is very impressive. However, as soon as the event ended, this uninhabited desert returned to silence… …..
Qaidam hinterland
If you were to ask me where I felt most like being in hell during my trip, and where I felt the most guilty, I would answer you without hesitation: not the Qiangtang No Man’s Land and the Dead Man’s Gully on the Xinjiang-Tibet Line; nor the Tarim Basin. The Taklimakan Desert; not to mention the Gurbantunggut Desert in the Junggar Basin, and certainly not the Qiongda Ban deep in the Tianshan Mountains… The real barren and ever-changing hell is in Qaidah Deep in the heart of the wooden basin. The spectacular “whale” Yadan, “tadpole” Yadan and the nameless salt lake are really worth the trip!
Yadan on the water
Compared to Yadan in the hinterland of Qaidam, Yadan on the water in the evening is indeed beautiful and moving - if Yadan in Shahai in the no-man’s land is a bohemian and fierce man, domineering and exuding masculinity; then Yadan on the water in Dongtai Jinaier Lake is definitely a tender girl wearing tulle and as gentle as water.
The last, the last,
I passed by Qinghai Lake in 2015, but I didn’t record many images.

. Because it is far different from what I imagined. Maybe it was influenced by too many travel guides, or maybe this place is suitable for a group of people. In short, when I really got there, I felt that the scenery was really ordinary. It may also be that the problem is not the scenery, but the chaotic planning of the scenic spot and your own state of mind.
