Colorful Danxia is mainly composed of red gravel, sandstone and mudstone. It has obvious imprints of arid and semi-arid climate. It is surprising for its cross-bedding, steep walls, vertical joints and colorful colors.

There are a total of five observation decks in Danxia National Geopark, and you need to take a shuttle bus between the observation decks. The order of taking the sightseeing bus is from Observation Deck No. 2 to Observation Deck No. 1, then to Observation Deck No. 5, and finally to Observation Deck No. 4. Among them, point No. 1 is the largest. Point 2 is the highest and offers a panoramic view of the entire Danxia landform; Points 3 and 4 have the most beautiful colors.
