- Introduction to attractions
Kumbum Monastery: It is one of the six major monasteries of the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism in China. It is also the leading scenic spot and historic site in Qinghai Province and a national key cultural relic protection unit. The architectural style of Kumbum Temple is unique. The butter flowers, murals and embroidery in the temple are known as the “Three Wonders of Kumbum Temple” and have high artistic value.
Laji Mountain: Laji Mountain belongs to the Qilian Mountains and is the boundary mountain between Qinghai Province and Gansu Province. It has a high altitude and diverse climate types on the mountain. When driving up the pass, you can experience rain, snow, fog, mist, overcast, sunny, song, sleet and other climate landscapes multiple times in one day.
Daotang River: Daotang River is located in Gonghe County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. It flows from east to west and flows into Qinghai Lake. It is different from most rivers that flow from west to east, so it is named Daotang River.
Qinghai Lake: Qinghai Lake is the largest inland lake in China and the largest saltwater lake in China. Its lake surface is 3197 meters above sea level, which is higher than the two Mount Tais. The deepest point of the lake reaches 38 meters, and its transparency reaches more than 89 meters, so it looks particularly blue.
Chaka Salt Lake: Chaka Salt Lake is a natural crystalline salt lake, known as the “Mirror of the Sky” by travelers. Here, you can see the sky and the lake reflecting each other, and the scenery is very beautiful.
Koruk Lake: Koruk Lake is Mongolian, meaning “grassy Breeze Beach”, and some people say it is “a place with lush water and grass”. The water and grass here are lush and it is a good place in the Qaidam Basin.
Qaidam Basin: Qaidam is not only a world of salt (there are many salt lakes and swamps in the southeast), but also rich in oil, coal, and various metal mineral deposits, which is known as the “cornucopia”. The Gobi and desert here hide a large number of Yadan landforms, as well as oil fields that look like scenes from science fiction movies.
The South Eight Immortals Yadan Landform: The South Eight Immortals is one of the largest and most typical Yadan landscapes in the world, covering an area of more than a thousand square kilometers. Here are rows of long strips extending intermittently.
