Zhenyuan County is located in Wuling Mountain District in eastern Guizhou Province and belongs to Qiandongnan Prefecture. The Wuyang River passes through the city from west to east, forming a unique Taijitu ancient city style of "nine mountains hugging one water, one water two cities", which is known as the "Venice of the East" by Chinese and foreign tourists. Zhenyuan has a special geographical location and is known as "the key to Dianchu and the gateway to eastern Guizhou". Zhenyuan is also an important stop on the Southern Silk Road from the Central Plains of Hunan and Chu to Yunnan and Guizhou to Myanmar, India and other Southeast Asian countries. Parts of the historical "Eight Grand Halls" and "Twelve Theater Towers" are still well preserved, forming a unique inclusive sexual culture. Zhenyuan is the birthplace of China's national heavy industry. Qingxi Iron Works, a joint-stock enterprise founded by Li Hongzhang and Zhang Zhidong during the "Westernization Movement", still exists in Zhenyuan, telling tourists about its former glory.
