Ninglang Yi Autonomous County, commonly known as "Xiaoliangshan", is located in the northwest of Yunnan Province, at the junction of Sichuan and Yunnan on the northwest Yunnan Plateau. It is adjacent to Yanbian and Yanyuan Counties of Sichuan Province to the east, Yulong County to the west across the river, and Yongsheng and Hua to the south. It is connected to Ping County and to the north is Muli County, Sichuan Province. Ninglang Yi Autonomous County is rich in natural resources, has a superior ecological environment, and has rich and unique tourism resources. The most famous tourist attraction in the territory is the beautiful Lugu Lake. Lugu Lake is like a bright gem embedded in the mountains of Xiaoliang Mountain, attracting domestic and foreign tourists with its wonderful lake and mountain scenery. The mysterious Mosuo people living on the banks of Lugu Lake still follow the original matrilineal family system and walking marriage customs, which also attract tourists to come and find out. In addition, there are natural landscapes such as Jiyi Cave, Yaoshan Qinglong Sea, and Sanjiangkou, as well as cultural landscapes such as Yongning Zhamei Lamasery, Kublai Lie, the founder of the Yuan Dynasty, who stationed his troops in the south on the Sun and Moon River, and the Chieftain's Office.
