Dujiangyan City is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Chengdu City, located in the northwest of the Chengdu Plain. It is named after the world-famous ancient water conservancy project Dujiangyan.
Dujiangyan was built during the Warring States Period. After more than two thousand years of ups and downs, it is still playing an increasingly important role. The ancient weir without dams for thousands of years can be said to be a harmonious unity between man and nature. In the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, Dujiangyan City was also in the earthquake zone. However, in the face of the huge earthquake, the Dujiangyan Water Conservancy Project showed the superb ancient architectural art and exquisite material selection. The original project was basically intact, which made people admire it. After traveling through two thousand years, it still stands before us and still benefits mankind. This is a scene that you have to pay homage to when visiting Dujiangyan City.
Dujiangyan was originally named Guanxian County. Today, the urban area is divided into new city area and ancient city area. Despite the fusion of modern commerce, you can still find a trace of ancient flavor in the ancient town of Guanxian. The greatest charm of Dujiangyan is that it remains pleasantly cool in midsummer. You can enjoy the fun with thousands of people here, blowing the river breeze, drinking beer, and feeling the comfort of Sichuan and Sichuan in Nanqiao; you can also go to Hongkou to experience jungle adventures with "Where Are We Going, Dad" and go for exciting rafting. Qingcheng Mountain, which is not far away, is also a beautiful sight that attracts people. It is green and quiet, and will definitely keep you refreshed all summer.
